Over £1 million savings with Intenda eAuction

The eAuction for Storage Media and Material Handling Equipment, which took place on 29 March 2012 and lasted for five hours, saved the Ministry of Defence £1,080,000 from the lowest tendered price. Further, £400,000 was saved on the cost of the previous contracts.

Third Party Maintenance Contracts

Ploughing through Trust lists of 1000’s of item lines and ensuring that every item is insured is a daunting, laborious and time-consuming task.  NHS Supply Chain had a team of 14 people that were swamped with this task and to keep track of over 60,000 items proved too much for a manual system.

They approached Intenda to capture all their current contracts, frameworks, clients and suppliers and to design a system that would capture the IP of how each member works as well as all the “remember to’s” that is part of everyday working life.

Intenda provided a base system on the first cut of Devolution nearly two years ago.  With the base system, we ensured that all data was cleaned, captured and could be transacted on.  As the process moved a manual transaction style onto an automated one, we needed the users to work on the base system in order to refine their needs.

Recently we upgraded TPMS1 onto the latest Devolution platform and also incorporated all the lessons learned as well as business and process changes that has happened during the past two years.  With our knowledge of their operation, we were able to provide them with a solution that not only fulfilled their needs but also allows them to grow and allows for a certain amount of change for the future.

We did a cutover from their first system to the new one overnight and they were able to continue working the very next day after training.  Their users are extremely happy with the new solution as well as the inherent functionality improvements that latest Devolution release provided.  Intenda has managed to cut down on transaction times dramatically, what would have taken two hours minimum is now a 10 minute exercise.

The agility of the Devolution Platform together with Intenda’s goal to give the Customer what they want has made this, yet again, a very successful implementation.
