The key Executive personnel in the group each come with more than 20 years systems experience personally. We have delivered large bespoke projects on an international basis, and more recently signed off two new systems at NHS Supply Chain. All of which were delivered within the budget and timeframe determined.

Intenda makes use, where applicable, of its own Devolution platform for configuring bespoke systems. This has shown to take as much as 60% to 70% of actual development coding out of the cycle, as well as supporting an agile development approach. This enables flexibility and allows business direction changes to be supported without a complete redesign of their systems.

System Architecture and Solutions Design
Intenda has been in this arena for the past 10 years. From the complex design of networks and hardware infrastructure to the synchronisation of 54 deployed databases in the South African Defence force. Intenda also ensures that their employees are trained in the relevant technologies, and employs the right personnel skill sets for strengthening the team. Intenda UK also employs a qualified BPL (Broadband over Power Lines) accredited skill as part of the team.

Business Intelligence Solutions (BI)
Intenda has been in the BI vertical for many years and the underlying technology of our BI has been the LogiXML platform, which has been part of the Intenda stable for the past five years. Intenda has an OEM licence for the software and Intenda UK is one of their support and training partner in the UK. LogiXML has their office in Reading.

Intenda are known for working with extreme volumes of data - working with real time feeds off devices and designing data warehouses for customers when processing becomes too slow. Intenda understands the analysis and interpretation of tens of millions of records - this is something we do well. Intenda’s references will attest to this.

We have nearly 10 years of experience in data scrubbing, fuzzy logic designs for data comparisons and do BI reporting and graphs of the results. Attached are examples of some BI projects undertaken recently. 

Monitoring of system performance and database management
Due to the fact that some customers request Intenda to host large applications, we have grown our internal skills to be able to deliver superior pro-active monitoring and management skills.

Intenda has been providing this service for the last 3 and half years in the UK, and for more than 7 years in South Africa.

Our belief in weekly recovery tests, disaster simulations and proper backup control cycles are a key part of Intenda being able to report that they have never lost one byte of data from any customer or system for which we are responsible for.

Heading up our Operations, we have employed an ex-IBM engineer who has co-authored a number of books on some of the technology we propose. He has been part of the Intenda team for nearly 5 years.

Web & graphical design

Intenda believes that the user interface contributes greatly to the experience of a user and therefore we do have graphic designers as part of our skillset offering.  Should a company have their own designers or prefer to work with their contracted Web and Graphical design team, the created style sheets are seamlessly integrated into our offered solution.  Application websites currently use ASPX, HTML and CSS but are not limited to these technologies.

Software design & testing
We have a dedicated Software Design team with Business Analysts that is responsible for the Product Development Lifecycle. Their main focus is to elicit requirements by means of engaging the client, using JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions, Interviews and Forums. The artefacts they are responsible for is the User Requirement Documents, Detail Design Documents and User Interface Designs using BPMN and UML. The software tool that is currently used as a standard is Enterprise Architect. Within the current Methodology (based on Agile Method “SCRUM”) the User Requirement Document is delivered during the Planning Phase of the Project, while the Detail Design Document and the User Interface Design forms part of each Iteration Phase. All the artefacts follow a standard of being approved by the Client, prior to commencement of the Project.

We have a team that is responsible for the investigation conducted to provide all stakeholders with information of the Quality of the Product under test. Their main focus is to ensure that the software product developed conforms to specification.

Within the current Methodology, Requirement Analysis and Test Planning form part of the “Planning Phase”, while Test Development, Test Execution, Test Reporting, Test Result Analysis, Regression Testing and Test Closure forms part of each Iteration Phase.

The types of testing that are in place:

Unit Testing, Load Testing, Functional Testing, Security Testing and Integration Testing.

Hardware design, integration & testing
Intenda prides itself in the skills we employ to assist in complex designs, integration and testing of the architected environments we produce. We come up with innovative designs focused on solving the problem requirement. 

We ensure the customer receives the best possible hosted and managed solution and making sure that software solution will perform as efficient as possible on the proposed hardware design.

Testing, and all its different connotations, is something we live by. We undertake regular testing of ‘simulated’ hardware failures and can coordinate this with the client.
